ROXAS CITY Capiz – An employee of the municipal government of Panitan, Capiz was arrested for alleged illegal possession of firearms during a raid conducted by the PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz.
The CIDG mounted the raid against Salde dela Rosa Dequiña of Brgy. Poblacion Ilaya, Panitan on the basis of a search warrant issued by Roxas City Regional Trial Court Branch 18 Judge Ignacio I. Alajar.
The raid happened 4 p.m. of July 30, 2019.
The raiding team confiscated from Dequiña a caliber .45 pistol, two magazine assemblies, and 14 rounds of live ammunitions of the same caliber.
Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) were filed against the suspect.
Meanwhile, Police Major Chris Arthemius Devaras, CIDG-Capiz chief, said they received reports that Dequiña used unlicensed firearm while securing a politician.
