Town hall employee nabbed in gun raid
An employee of the municipal government of Dueñas, Iloilo was arrested following a firearm raid early morning of May 10, 2019.
Rey Palmares, 45, an Engineer 1 of Dueñas town government, was collared at his house in Barangay Pandan, Dueñas.
Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Iloilo, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), and Dueñas Municipal Police Station seized from Palmares a caliber .45 pistol with two magazines and 15 pieces of ammunition of the same caliber.
Meanwhile, several minutes after the raid on Palmares abode, members of the same police units swooped on the houses of Jeofrey Lancero II at Barangay Jaguimit, Dueñas.
The raid on Lanceros house led to the recovery of a caliber .45 pistol with six magazine assemblies and 10 pieces of ammunition of the same caliber.
More arrests are expected as CIDG steps up Oplan Paglalansag Omega, a PNP campaign against private armies and loose firearms.
