Town denounces CPP-NPA

BACOLOD City – The municipal government of Toboso in Negros Occidental highlighted its 71st Charter Day celebration and oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected officials with the signing on July 1, 2019 of Resolution No. 044 Series of 2019 declaring the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) as persona non grata.

Local officials headed by Mayor Richard Jaojoco, Lieutenant Colonel Emelito Thaddeus Logan, 79th Infantry Battalion (IB) commander, and Police Major John Mocyat Jr., acting battalion commander of 6th Special Action Battalion of the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP-SAF), led the signing of the resolution, which was approved during the regular session of the municipal council on June 25.

The resolution stated that “the municipality of Toboso, as it continues, to be productive and developed, did right to condemn the illegal and unlawful activities of the CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) as it threatens the economic, social and political stability of the municipality and its people.” The resolution means that CNTs will not be welcomed in the municipality of Toboso.

Meanwhile, Logan commended the municipality government for their appropriate action against the communist terrorist group who destroys peace and development, as well as the innocent lives of people in the area.

Logan stressed that, “the Community Support Program (CSP) operation in some barangays of Toboso helped with the dissemination and awareness of the constituents about the deceptions and atrocities of CNTs and its negative effect of its presence on peace and order situation in the municipality”.

“Our CSP operation was instrumental in the realization of the insurgency affected local folks to not welcome the communist terrorists groups and strongly be on the side of the government”, he said.

Recently, San Carlos City also passed Resolution No. 19-139 on May 30, denouncing the atrocities perpetuated by the CNTs in the country and not to allow their presence in the city.
