BACOLOD CITY – A total of 16 families received P100,928 in assistance from the local government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-6, following a tornado in Barangay Bato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, last month.
According to the DSWD-6, the agency turned over P84,928 worth of food and non-food assistance to the affected families last week.
The agency also provided 32 family food packs, 16 sleeping kits, and 16 family kits.
The tornado hit some houses in the area on June 24, affecting 68 individuals.
Two houses were destroyed, while 12 others were partially damaged.
The local government unit (LGU) also turned over P1,000 in financial assistance to each affected family, totaling P16,000.
