BACOLOD City – Some residents of Barangay 1, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental sighted a tornado Tuesday afternoon.
According to Reynald Horegue, head of Moises Padilla Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, no injuries or damages were reported.
Horegue said the tornado occurred while there was light rain.
“Ara man lang siya sa babaw, wala siya kapanaog, then nawas-ag man lang siya,” Horegue said.
Horegue explained that a factor that might have contributed to the said phenomenon was the cold and hot atmosphere.
“Siguro kay ga ilis na klima kay pasulod na rainy season. Medyo init man gid sang aga asta sang udto,” Horegue said.
Horegue recalled that a tornado previously hit Barangay Inolingan, which damaged several houses and crops.
