BACOLOD City – A tornado passed by and destroyed the roof of an eatery at Barangay Nanunga, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental last Monday.
According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), strong winds directly hit the structure made of mixed concrete and light materials.
The tornado was believed to have been formed in a vacant area and crossed the street, hitting the eatery.
There were houses beside the structure, but they were not affected.
No injuries were reported, as there were no people eating in the eatery at that time.
A few weeks ago, a tornado also damaged 13 houses in Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City.
