Asia’s Modern Hero Awards honored 320 individuals, including two Ilonggos, who exemplified heroism in their respective field.
The awarding was held at Okada Hotel’s Manila Grand Ballroom.
Drs. Rollin and Ma. Daisy Tabuena were among the awardees for their unselfish services at the height of the pandemic.
Rollin is an expert in internal medicine and interventional bronchoscopy specialist while Daisy specializes in electromyography and nerve conduction.
The recipients of the award were nominated and deliberated on their humanitarian involvement (25 (percent), community accomplishments (25 percent), impact and influence (25 percent), and services (25 percent).
Among the most notable awardees from the Philippines are businessman Manny Pangilinan, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, PNP deputy chief for administration Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, TV producer Charo Santos, actor Coco Martin, TV newscaster Karen Davila and Public Attorney’s Office Chief Atty. Persida Acosta.
