Police stations across Iloilo province stand to receive up to PHP 250,000 in cash incentives under a new provincial government program recognizing outstanding performance in crime reduction and peace and order initiatives.
The incentive-based recognition program is anchored on Provincial Ordinance No. 2025-338, authored by Board Member June Mondejar, which institutionalizes the “Search for the Most Outstanding City/Municipal Police Stations in the Province of Iloilo.”
A Technical Working Group met on May 26 to finalize the guidelines and criteria for the competition as part of the program’s initial implementation phase.
Police stations will be evaluated based on their 2025 accomplishments in operational functionality, reduction of index and non-index crimes, community engagement strategies, and innovative policing practices.
Index crimes include offenses against persons, such as murder, homicide, physical injuries, and rape, as well as crimes against property, including robbery, theft, and carnapping.
Non-index crimes refer to violations of special laws and the Revised Penal Code.
The search will be divided into two categories.
Category A includes Passi City and first-class municipalities, while Category B covers second- to fourth-class municipalities.
The top three winners in each category will receive cash rewards, with champions getting PHP 250,000, first runners-up PHP 200,000, and second runners-up PHP 150,000.
Provincial officials said the program aims to encourage effective law enforcement, strengthen peace and order initiatives, and recognize police units that demonstrate exemplary public service in their communities.
