Filipino boxing prodigy Eumir Marcial has announced that he is turning pro after signing with Manny Pacquiao (MP) Promotions.
After months of speculation whether he would turn pro or not, Marcial finally made one of the most important decisions in his career after reaching success as an amateur boxer and will even represent the country in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
The top Filipino slugger just signed a six-year deal with MP Promotions and will look to shift his focus on the professional scene after his Tokyo stint.
“Nais ko po na iparating sa lahat ang aking desisyon na pumirma ng isang promotional deal sa Manny Pacquiao Promotions,” said Marcial
What’s amazing with Marcial’s contract is that included in his six-year-deal is the freedom to represent the country first more than any regular boxing bout once he turns pro.
“Sa katunayan, nakasaad sa aking six-year promotional deal na hindi sila magiging hadlang sa oras na kailanganin ako ng national team,” added Marcial.
However, with Marcial’s decision of turning pro, his current goal is to clinch the gold medal and bring pride to the country in the 2021 Olympics.
“Gaya po ng aking naipangako, ibibigay ko ang lahat ng aking makakaya para makuha ang minimithi natin na Olympic gold medal, at maging isang boxing world champion ilang taon mula ngayon,” he said.
