An Oplan Tokhang surrenderer was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation morning of July 8, 2022 in Bingawan, Iloilo.
The suspect, 47-year-old Joenard Briones, was nabbed at his house in Purok 7, Barangay Poblacion, Bingawan.
Members of the Bingawan Municipal Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) collared the suspect after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P22,000.
Seized from Briones were four sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams and valued at P102,000.
According to Lieutenant Ryan Christ Inot, Bingawan police chief, Briones’ illegal drug transactions transpired mostly at his house.
The suspect used to reside in Tapaz, Capiz but transferred residence to Bingawan in 2016.
Briones is presently at the custody of Bingawan PNP and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
