A surrenderer of Oplan Tokhang, the government’s cornerstone campaign against illegal drugs, was arrested in a shabu sting evening of January 16, 2021 in Janiuay, Iloilo.
Joemar Moralidad, 38, was collared at his place in Barangay Damo-ong, Janiuay.
Members of Janiuay Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit teams 1 and 2 led the operation against Moralidad who allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP10,000 to an undercover cop.
Also recovered from his possession were eight sachets of suspected shabu, cash of PHP4,000, a mobile phone, an empty cigarette pack, a sling bag, and a motorcycle with sidecar.
Lieutenant General Enrique Robles, Janiuay police deputy chief, valued the seized drugs at PHP25,000.
Moralidad surrendered through Oplan Tokhang in 2016, making him a high value individual (HVI) level 1.
Robles said they are still investigating where the suspect sourced his illegal drugs.
Moralidad is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
