Toboso unveils new P4-M elementary school building

BACOLOD CITY –  The town of Toboso, Negros Occidental celebrated the handover of a new P4-million school building to Amparado Elementary School in Barangay General Luna.

School Principal Ms. Ivy Anquillano accepted the key of responsibilities from the Municipal Council, with former Mayor, now Councilor Richard Jaojoco, taking part in the ceremony.

The event on March 8 was witnessed by city officials, members of the Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde), the 79th Infantry Battalion (IB), teachers, and barangay officials.

Major Mervin Rosal, 303rd IBde civil military operations officer, noted that the three-classroom building was funded under the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Lieutenant Colonel Alfredo San Agustin Jr., representing Brigadier General Orlando Edralin, emphasized the government’s role in ensuring quality education through initiatives like the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF)-SBDP.

“The new school building will provide the students a modern and conducive learning environment,” he said, appreciating the local government, under Mayor Madonnah Jaojoco, for spearheading the project and all stakeholders for their contributions.

The inauguration was sanctified with a blessing by Rev. Fr. Rannie Vereña.
