The TNT Tropang Giga is looking to strengthen its frontcourt after acquiring former Phoenix Super LPG center Dave Marcelo in free agency.
Marcelo signed a two-year deal as a player capable of playing in the paint and shooting from range.
“Dave’s intimidating presence, outside shooting, and solid defense will be of great help to the TNT Tropang Giga,” said team manager Gabby Cui.
Marcelo was a part of the historic Phoenix roster that challenged the Tropang Giga during the PBA PH Cup bubble edition.
The squad led by Matthew Wright and Calvin Abueva unfortunately blew a 2-1 lead in the tightly-contested series with only one game away from their first-ever finals appearance.
Marcelo will be backstopping the TNT big men core of JP Erram and Troy Rosario.
