The virtual culminating ceremony of the 32nd National Statistics Month (NSM) in Guimaras became lively with a Tiktok dance challenge to the tune of the NSM jingle and e-poster making contest spearheaded by the Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC).
“The entries in the Tiktok Dance Challenge and E-Poster Making were posted in the Facebook Page of National Statistical Information Center (NSIC)- Guimaras on Oct 22, 2021, until Oct 27, 2021 and were played during the closing ceremony of the 32nd NSM on Oct 29, 2021, which was held via zoom,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
The Tiktok Dance Challenge contest began on Oct 22 and ended on Oct 28, 2021. It portrayed the theme of the 32nd NSM, “Revving up for Social and Economic Recovery through Evidence-Based Policies through using the any parts of NSM Jingle “Estadistika: Daan sa Kaunlara”.
“The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with TikTok,” Losare said.
Losare also emphasized that the 45- to 60-second Tiktok contest was opened to all Guimarasnons, and was judged as to originality, creativity, social media impact, and relevance to the theme.
“Complying to COVID-19 restrictions, were also included in the criteria of the said contest.”
The Team TiktokTourist of Provincial Tourism Office won 1st place, while the two participants from Jordan Municipality (Tinabuan Sisters and Urban Thugs), got the 2nd and third place, respectively.
“The top three winners received a certificate of participation and recognition with a cash prize of Php3,000.00, Php2, 000.00, and Php1, 000.00, correspondingly,” Losare said.

The e-poster making contest was also designed to promote creative arts through online platforms as one of the alternative ways to promote art and enrich the creativity of Guimarasnons during pandemic where social distancing was imposed, and mass gathering was strictly prohibited.
“This will also raise public awareness and appreciation of the importance of Statistics as well as creative arts not only to all Guimarasnons,” Losare said.
The e-poster entries were also posted in the NSIC FB Page from Oct 23-28, 2021 and was judged during the 32nd Closing Program on Oct 9, 2021, as to originality, impact (neatness, presentation, color harmony), number of likes on NSIC-Guimaras Facebook page, description of artwork/poster and, relevance to the theme.
“Entry of the Provincial Tourism Office outranked the entry of PSA-Guimaras in the e-poster which they both received a certificate of participation and recognition with a cash prize of P2,000 and P1,500, respectively,” Losare said.
“The PSC Guimaras also actively participated in regional contests like Informercial and infographics designs represented by PSA-Guimaras which ranked 5th and 9nth place, respectively,” Losare added.
The celebration of the 32nd NSM in Guimaras province was truly a success with the active participation of the PSC member agencies.
