TiktoClock hosts look forward to discover food, culture in regional shows

BACOLOD City – The three hosts of GMA’s variety show TiktoClock, said that they always look forward to try native cuisines and learn various cultures of people when they visit provinces for regional shows.

Kim Atienza known as “Kuya Kim,” and comedians Pokwang, and Jayson Gainza arrived here on October 22, to treat their Kapusong Bacolodnons to exciting games and prizes during this year’s MassKara Festival.

The three faced some members of the local press in a media conference at the Sugarland Hotel last Sunday, hours before their Kapuso Fiesta Show at the Bacolod public plaza at 8 p.m.

Atienza said that he’s happy with the hospitality of the Bacolodnons, as they were warmly welcomed by their beautiful smiles and good gestures.

“Natutuwa kami sa hospitality, ang babait ng mga tao at masarap ang pagkain dito,”he added.

Atienza said that one thing that he usually looks forward in provinces is the local food.

“Lahat ng lugar na pinupuntahan namin, masasarap lahat ng pagkain. Gusto namin  iyong native, eating the local food talaga,” he added.

Aside from that, Atienza said that the vibe in provinces is different from Manila. “Maganda ang vibe paglabas ng Manila. Laid back. Mas kalmado ang mga tao,” he added.

He also shared his fascination in the local art scene, citing well-known artists like visual artist Charlie Co and Nunelucio Alvarado, who is from Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

He said that the art scene in Bacolod is very strong not just in the Philippines but internationally, as well.

For her part, Pokwang said that traveling to new places for regional shows is always an opportunity for her to learn the culture and food.

“More on sa Manila kami. 100 percent hindi namin alam ang buhay dito. Ang saya na may natututunan kami sa mga tao, religion, food, and culture, bukod sa nag e-enjoy kami,” she added.

Pokwang said that she’s happy that they can get to discover so many things in various places. “Nagbibigay kami ng laughter sa show namin and in return may nakukuha din kaming support and may natututunan kami,” she added.

She shared her experience when she previously visited the Canlaon’s balete, the oldest recorded tree in the whole island based in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.

She said that when she asked permission to bring a part of the tree, it gave her a good luck.

As for Gainza, he said that he’s always happy whenever they travel to give people a good and fun show.

TiktoClock was launched on July 25 this year, primarily hosted by Pokwang, Sparkle artist and Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo, and Atienza. Later, Gainza and celebrity Faith de Silva also joined the show.

The show enthralls Kapuso viewers with time-limited games, buzzer-beater performances, and many more interactive suprises for the studio audience and home viewers.

Prior to the October 22 event, the stars of the hit afternoon series Abot Kamay na Pangarap – Jillian Ward, Ken Chan, and Jeff Moses also brought joy to their Bacolod fans on October 19 in a Kapuso mall show at Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Dennis Trillo and Bea Alonzo of the primetime series Love Before Sunrise also held a mall show at SM City Bacolod as part of the MassKara Festival celebration.

Meanwhile, Oliver Victor Amoroso, GMA senior vice president and head of Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy, in a statement, said that “this is our way of spreading love and sharing happiness in various regions across the country, most especially for our beloved Kapuso who never cease to show their unwavering support to the network, as well as to its programs and artists.”
