ROXAS CITY, Capiz — On the afternoon of April 18, police detained three men, known by the aliases Bryan, Dennis, and Cyril, in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Cuartero, Capiz. All in their early twenties, these individuals from Barangay Carataya were wanted for rape and violations of child protection laws.
The arrests were based on warrants issued by Acting Presiding Judge Anthony A. Dumpilo of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in Roxas City on March 29, 2023. The suspects face charges under Republic Act 7610, known for addressing statutory rape and child abuse.
Bail for the child abuse charges was set at P80,000 each, while the rape allegations are non-bailable offenses.
Following their arrest, the suspects were taken to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Barangay San Jose, Roxas City, where they will be held in custody.
