BACOLOD City – Three suspected members of the Yunit Militia of the New People’s Army (NPA) were arrested in a raid in Isabela, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Authorities identified the suspects as Weniefredo Carillo Sr., 51, vice C.O. of Yunit Militia; Martillano Lindayao, 46; and Dimas Lindayao, 40, who were members of the Central Negros 1, Leonardo Panaligan Command-NPA (CN1, LPC-NPA), according to the Army.
Personnel of Isabela Municipal Police Station, and 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company (Nocpmfc), and troopers of the Army’s 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB) applied three search warrants for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act) against the suspects at Barangay San Agustin.
The warrants were issued by Executive Judge Cyclamen Jison Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 63 in La Carlota City.
Authorities recovered during the raid a .45 caliber pistol with one magazine and six live ammunitions, and two .38 caliber revolver with nine live ammunitions.
The Army said that Dimas Lindayao had been previously charged for double murder, based on police records.
All three suspects are now in the custody of the municipal police station.
