Three persons were stabbed following a fracas among neighbors at Molo, Iloilo City evening of Nov. 17, 2019.
Police identified the victims as Leonard Ignacio, 27, and Christopher Geraga, 44, both of Zone 4, Barangay San Juan; and Peter Cerveza, 39, of Zone 3, San Juan.
Leonard was brought to Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital for a stab injury on the left portion of his abdomen.
Geraga, an ice cream vendor, sustained wounds on his chest, abdomen, and back of his body while Cerveza, a security guard, had four stab wounds on the chest and one on the side of his body. They were treated at Medicus Medical Center.
Police Major Engilbert Banquillo, Molo police chief, said the three victims were drunk when the incident happened.
Geraga and Cervesa were drinking liquor outside the former’s house while the group of Leonard, and his brother Leo Ignacio and Alemar “Tuko” Encio, 25, were in a nearby table.
The rumble started after Leo and Geraga figured in a heated confrontation.
“It was petty. Leo asked to borrow a chair but Geraga did not allow him,” Banquillo said.
Since the two already had bad blood against each other, Leo reminded Geraga of the time when he moved a parked motorcycle without his consent.
As their confrontation heated up, Leonard allegedly tried to pacify the fight.
But Geraga got hold of an ice pick and stabbed Leonard.
Encio came to the defense of the brothers and stabbed Geraga and Cervesa.
Encio fled after the incident and remains at-large.
Banquillo said the wounded Geraga would still be charged for attacking Leonard.
