Three motorcycle-riding suspects carted with around PHP 5,000 in cash after robbing a gasoline station at Jaro, Iloilo City early evening of January 26.
It was initially thought that the assailants would gas up when they made their way to the Magic Gasoline Station at Barangay Lanit, Jaro Asian 6:15 p.m. of Monday.
But before alias Raymart, 33, the pump attendant, could even lift the fuel gun, one of the two backriders went near him, showed a firearm, and declared a hold-up.
Captain Mavin Laraño, Iloilo City Police Station 3 chief, said Raymart told investigators that another backrider was armed.
They also asked the victim about his companion-cashier’s whereabouts.
At that time of the incident, the cashier was inside the comfort room.
They immediately took his black belt bag where he kept the gasoline station’s earnings.
Laraño said the act was over and done in under five minutes.
They then sped off towards Leganes town.
Raymart immediately called on his companion at the CR.
They then asked for assistance from a member of the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB) stationed in Lanit village.
A hot pursuit operation was immediately conducted.
Laraño said the incident was captured by the gasoline station’s CCTV camera.
However, the suspects’ identities are still unknown as they were wearing full-face helmets.
Investigation is still going on to identify the three robbers.
