Three more members of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to authorities recently.
The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 said the surrenderers yielded to the 604th Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and President Roxas Municipal Police Station on Sept 5, 2020.
One of them was alias Pia, 53, a member of the Political Organizing Team of Special Partisan Unit (SPARU) of Southern Negros Front, KR-Negros.
Another surrenderer was alias Morgan, 59, a member of AYP (Armado Yunit Propaganda) of South West Front KR-Negros, Section Committee, Squad Leader of Special Partisan Unit (SPARU).
Both yielded without firearms and are from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
A 25-year-old from Maayon, Capiz also surrendered to the police. The former rebel who used the aliases Nonoy and Alan was a member of Eastern Front 15 Nonito Aguirre Command under Romeo Gangoso or alias Pedic/Raegan.
Nonoy turned over a hand grenade.
As in the previous rebels who surrendered, the three claimed that exhaustion has forced them to leave the movement.
The three surrenderers can avail of the government’s “Oplan Balik Loob” Program under the Enhanced Comprehensive and Local Integrated Program (ECLIP).
Barely a month ago, eight members of the NPA also surrendered to combined forces of Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police in Barangay Poblacion, Culasi, Antique.
All surrenderers were members of the Central Front and Northern Front of the NPA’s Komiteng Rehiyon-Panay (KR-P)
