Three persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Iloilo City on Sunday.
Roel Gregori, Jr., 23, of Barangay Desamparados, Jaro, and alias Jan-Jan, 16, of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, were arrested 2:45 pm at Barangay Our Lady of Lourdes in Jaro.
On the other hand, Joana Mae Hermosura, 20, of Barangay Banuyao, La Paz, Iloilo City was collared 10 p.m. of the same day at La Paz district.
Hermosura’s two companions escaped. Police identified them as Hermosura’s husband Remson, 28, also of Banuyao, Lapaz and Kenth Francis Hallares, 22, of Barangay Balabago, Jaro.
Members of the PNP Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 conducted both operations in coordination with the local police.
Gregori and Jan-Jan were arrested after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P13,000.
Recovered from their possession were five sachets of suspected shabu and the marked money.
But the two suspects denied selling illegal drugs.
They claimed that a friend asked them to meet and deliver to give a small package to a person they do not personally know
They were allegedly promised a P100 fee.
Meanwhile, Hermosura yielded two sachets of suspected shabu, P5,000 marked money and other drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are now detained and would be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
