ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Three persons were arrested for alleged illegal fishing in Pilar, Capiz on Wednesday.
Joseph dela Cruz, 28, boat captain, and his two crew members Joel Alvin Baliguat, 28, and Joven Baliguat, 29, of Brgy. Casanayan Pilar were apprehended by Bantay Dagat members of Pilar for violation of Municipal Ordinance No. 1 Series of 1999.
Confiscated from the trio were their boat, active fishing gear, and fine-meshed fishing net.
The three are now in the custody of Pilar police station while charges are being readied against them.
