ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Three persons were killed while another was injured in two road accidents in Mambusao and Pilar towns over the weekend.
Two motorcycle riders were severely injured after getting crushed by a ten-wheeler truck Saturday afternoon at Barangay Atiplo, Mambusao.
Police identified the victims as Aldren Delmindo, 44, and Vicente Caporal, 27, both residents of Barangay Parian, Sigma Capiz.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Johny Delos Santos of Mambusao police, the victims were drunk when the incident happened.
The victims were on their way home from a drinking binge at Barangay Bato-Bato in Mambusao when a truck overtook them that led to the incident.
Revel Roa, 44, of Barangay Laboon, Maasin City, Southern Leyte drove the truck.
Delos Santos said the victims were declared dead at Mambusao District Hospital.
Roa is detained at the Mambusao police station.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old motorcycle driver died after colliding with another motorcycle Saturday afternoon at San Esteban, Pilar.
Police identified the victim as Marlon Francisco.
Investigation conducted by Pilar Municipal Police Station indicated that Francisco was driving his motorcycle when he crashed with another motorcycle driven by Christian Paul Felicisimo, 25, of Barangay Botongon in Estancia, Iloilo.
Francisco was declared dead on arrival at Jesus Colmenares District Hospital in Balasan, Iloilo
Felicisimo, on the other hand, was taken to Bailan District Hospital and later transferred to a private hospital in Roxas City.
