Three houses damaged in Maayon fire
MAAYON, Capiz — Two homes were destroyed and another partially damaged in a fire that broke out around 7:50 p.m. Saturday, November 8, in Barangay East Villaflores, Maayon, Capiz. The Bureau of Fire Protection identified the owners of the razed homes as Melchor Catalan, 64, and Barangay Kagawad Ricky Celiz, 44.

MAAYON, Capiz — Two homes were destroyed and another partially damaged in a fire that broke out around 7:50 p.m. Saturday, November 8, in Barangay East Villaflores, Maayon, Capiz.
The Bureau of Fire Protection identified the owners of the razed homes as Melchor Catalan, 64, and Barangay Kagawad Ricky Celiz, 44.
A third house, owned by Renie Berco, 43, sustained partial damage.
Initial investigation by Maayon BFP indicated that the fire started in Celiz’s house, which was unoccupied at the time as the family was at the hospital.
The blaze quickly spread and affected neighboring homes.
Damage was estimated at PHP 150,000.
Mayor Raymond Malapajo and the municipal government extended assistance to the affected families.
