BACOLOD City – The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (Norppo) condemned the killing of a family of three in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental last Wednesday.
The victims were identified as the Catalonia family namely – Pedro, his wife Servana, and their daughter Marites, all farmers.
They were found dead near their residence in Barangay Najandig when the couple’s son went home.
Based on initial investigation, some of the personal belongings of the victims including cash worth P20,000 were reported missing.
Police Colonel Reynaldo Lizardo, acting Norppo director, in a press briefing yesterday, said they already have two persons of interest in the incident, which they considered as a case of robbery with homicide.
“Nakakalungkot na sa ganitong panahon, magkakaroon ng insidente sa ganoong liblib na lugar,” he said.
Lizardo said he instructed the police to look for witnesses to know what happened prior to the incident and to look for evidence that can be submitted to the Crime Laboratory.
“Inaalam namin ang ibang anggulo, kung may possibility ba na may grudges,” he said.
Lizardo assured that they will give justice to the victims.
