BACOLOD City – Three persons were gunned down in two separate shooting incidents in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental in the past two days.
On July 21, 2020 two swine traders from La Libertad town were killed by unidentified men who were armed with high-powered firearms at Sitio Mandi-e, Barangay Magsaysay, a report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) said.
Both victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
The killing happened in the same area as that of the 2017 fatal ambush by the New People’s Army (NPA) on some members of the city police force.
The following day, a 51-year-old resident of Barangay Poblacion was also slain by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants at Sitio Bato, Barangay Malusay.
Police records indicated that the victim was driving his tricycle when he was flagged down and shot by the gunmen. He was hit on the different parts of his body which caused his immediate death.
Authorities recovered from the scene three cases of .45-caliber ammunition and a slug.
