Three caught for illegal fishing in Ivisan

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Three persons were arrested for alleged illegal fishing in the waters of Brgy. Balaring in Ivisan, Capiz Sunday evening.

Police identified the suspects as Nicpol Dela Cruz, 49, boat captain of the fishing vessel; Rodrigo Diako, 34; and Angelo Rebot, 19, all residents of Barangay Punta Cugon here.

Investigation conducted by Ivisan PNP indicated that members of the Bantay Dagat of Ivisan caught the suspects while conducting seaborne patrol.

Local authorities were able to recover the suspects’ fishing gears and boat. The confiscated items are now in the custody of the police.

Dela Cruz, Diako and Rebot are detained at the Ivisan Municipal Police Station.
