Three boys drown in Dingle dam

Three boys drowned while swimming in the Jalaur River near Moroboro Dam in Dingle, Iloilo, at noon on Dec. 30.
Police identified the victims as Angelo, 10; Jimmy, 13; and Jarryl, 13, all residents of Barangay Tinocuan, Dingle.
Reports said the victims were with three other boys—Francis, Jandy, and Anjo—when the incident happened.
The group had gone to Moroboro Dam at the Jalaur River in Barangay Moroboro, Dingle.
The Dingle Municipal Police Station received the incident report around 12:40 p.m.
A team led by Police Senior Master Sgt. Sheryl Provido was dispatched to verify the report.
Investigation revealed that the six boys were walking along the riverbank when they slipped and were swept away by a strong current.
Francis, Jandy, and Anjo managed to save themselves, but the three others went missing.
Responders from the Pototan Mountain Tiger, Bureau of Fire Protection–Dingle Substation, Philippine Coast Guard, and Dingle Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office immediately launched a search and rescue operation.
At 5:40 p.m. the same day, rescuers recovered Angelo’s body.
Jarryl’s body was found by Coast Guard divers at 6:23 p.m.
The operation was temporarily suspended at 7:55 p.m. due to nightfall.
Jimmy’s body was retrieved at around 7:15 a.m. on Dec. 31.
