Three arrested in separate Capiz drug busts

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police arrested three people in separate anti-drug operations Monday, July 27, in the towns of Ivisan, Dao, and Panitan.
The Ivisan Municipal Police Station arrested an automotive technician during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cudian, Ivisan.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Ben, a resident of Barangay Ilaya-Ivisan.
Police said Ben was classified as a street-level individual on the Capiz Provincial Priority Target List on July 23, 2026.
Officers recovered a heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu used in the transaction and two additional sachets from the suspect.
The seized drugs weighed about 5 grams and had an estimated standard drug price of PHP 34,000, police said.
Ben remained in the custody of the Ivisan Municipal Police Station pending the filing of charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Panitan, police arrested a 31-year-old man during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya.
The Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Panitan Municipal Police Station conducted the operation.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Jep, a resident of the barangay.
Officers recovered four sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 15 grams and valued at PHP 102,000, police said.
Police also recovered PHP 1,500 in marked buy-bust money.
Operatives seized a .38-caliber revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition from the suspect, police said.
Jep remained in the custody of the Panitan Municipal Police Station pending the filing of charges under Republic Act No. 9165 and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Republic Act No. 9165 penalizes the unauthorized sale and possession of dangerous drugs, while Republic Act No. 10591 regulates the ownership, possession, and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
Meanwhile, police arrested a tricycle driver around noon Monday during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Nasunogan, Dao.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Jr., a resident of the barangay.
The Capiz Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the operation with drug enforcement teams from the Dao, Cuartero, and Dumarao municipal police stations.
Officers recovered four heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu and PHP 500 in marked buy-bust money.
Police also seized a black Bajaj motorcycle and other nondrug evidence.
Jr. remained in the custody of the Dao Municipal Police Station pending the filing of charges under Republic Act No. 9165.
