The Song Of Christmas

In the 9th and 10th centuries, Northern European monasteries developed the Christmas hymn into a sequence of rhymed stanzas. The Parisian monk Adam of Saint Victor began to derive music from popular songs in the 12th century, which introduced something closer to the traditional Christmas carol.

There is no formal definition. Wintertime songs such as “Frosty the Snowman” and “Jingle Bells” have become associated with Christmas, although they do not mention the holiday anywhere in the lyrics.

Christmas music can pretty much be divided into three types: religious hymns, carols, and then secular songs and pop songs that focus on reindeer, winter, romance, and Santa Claus.

Christmas, the song awakens our hearts and moves us to create a better world although this year it looks much more distressing. Let’s allow ourselves to be showered by the real spirit of our Lord.

Let us not despair then even if difficulties rise before us – either in our personal lives or in the life of humanity. In celebrating Christmas, we celebrate our faith in the survival of the whole creation.

Christmas holiday should be spent at home where love binds us together. Delicious food has been prepared and all of us happily arrange our gifts under the colorful Christmas tree.

I will celebrate my 25th Christmas in the Philippines. I am really so happy.

On the streets, everybody lingers around. Houses are well lit, there is music, laughter and noise. enemies come into reconciliation; jealous hearts change. Rich and poor try to overcome their mutual gaps in life for this special time.

Next year, nobody can tell how we celebrate Christmas again. Will it be the same? Will it be a big difference? We therefore hope and pray for the best.
