It seems like San Miguel Beermen’s quest for a PBA Philippine Cup six-peat title run is getting tougher and tougher.
Already losing main-man June Mar Fajardo due to an injury, the Beermen will also be missing the services of star guard Terrence Romeo after dislocating his right shoulder.
Romeo suffered the injury after colliding with TNT Tropang Giga’s Ryan Reyes and immediately left the playing court while grabbing his shoulder and visibly in pain.
Before the injury happened, Romeo was already scoring at will against TNT, hitting the 11-point mark during the second quarter of the game.
The SMB and PBA medical team then rushed the former PBA scoring champion to the nearest hospital and ruled him out of the bubble.
Romeo and Fajardo’s absence will leave a deep void for the team and it is up for remaining stars’ Arwind Santos, Marcio Lassiter, Alex Cabagnot, Moala Tautuaa, and Chris Ross to carry on SMB’s winning tradition in the bubble.
SMB team manager Gee Abanilla revealed that Romeo will be needing eight to 10 weeks of recovery period before undergoing rehabilitation.
