A terminated security officer was allegedly behind the April 14 shooting incident in Pavia, Iloilo that killed a woman and injured another.
Alias Lloyd, 40, was arrested at his home at Barangay Gua-an, Leganes, around 1 a.m. of April 16.
Lloyd was tagged as the lone gunman that killed alias Divine, 32, of Zone 2, Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City; and injured Shane, 28, of Barangay Barasan Este, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.
Both victims were employed at Goldilocks manufacturing facility, Earth Grain Inc., located Pavia town. Divine was the plant manager while Shane was employed as human resource officer.
Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief, said that Shane positively identified Lloyd as the person who shot them.
Police also secured CCTV footages that corroborated with her statement.
Razalan said police investigators ruled that the incident was triggered by work-related motive.
Lloyd was allegedly employed as security officer by Goldilocks through a third-party company.
He was tasked to monitor the CCTV cameras at the manufacturing plant.
But on several instances, he was allegedly caught sleeping during work hours.
“It was just once or twice. This prompted Shane to recommend for his termination,” Razalan said.
On the day of the incident, the security agency reportedly informed the suspect that it was his last day of work at the Goldilocks plant.
This angered Lloyd, who might have immediately planned to take his revenge.
A CCTV footage showed that victims were walking from their workplace going to a nearby mall at Barangay Ungka, Pavia around 7:40 p.m. when the motorcycle-riding gunman opened fire at them before fleeing towards the area of Barangay Aganan, Pavia.
Shane and Divine were rushed to the nearby Medical Center – Iloilo.
However, Divine died at around 9:32 p.m. while undergoing treatment.
It was gathered that it wasn’t the first time that Llyod had gone against the law.
On Jan. 25, 2021, he was arrested following a search warrant implementation for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
A homemade caliber .45 pistol was seized during the raid.
He entered a plea bargaining agreement and is on probation.
Llyod was again yielded with a caliber .45 pistol after a vehicular incident at 3:45 a.m. of Jan. 6, 2024 at Progreso Road, Barangay Guinobatan, Leganes.
There’s an ongoing trial for the said case.
It was gathered that Llyod has a three children with his wife, who’s now working abroad.
