Ten nabbed in weekend drug stings

BACOLOD City – Police arrested 10 persons and confiscated P243,040 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental during the weekend.

The bulk of the drug recovery was reported in E.B. Magalona town, where Ricky Arquibel, 42, of Barangay Consing was arrested with P102,000 worth of suspected shabu last Saturday.

Police Major Kenneth Gratones, E.B. Magalona town police chief, said that Arquibel previously surrendered to the police but failed to participate in the community-based drug rehabilitation program (CBDRP).

Gratones said the suspect is under the drugs watchlist of the barangay. He is also a street-level individual, according to the police.

Nine others were also apprehended in the cities of San Carlos, Talisay, La Carlota, Cadiz, Victorias, and Bago, and the town of Binalbagan, Toboso, and La Castellana, with the seizure of P141,040 worth of suspected shabu.
