MANILA – Teleperformance (TP) Philippines has been named 1st Runner-Up in the Gender-Inclusive Workplace category of the United Nations Women 2024 Asia-Pacific Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards, marking its first recognition by UN Women.
The award highlights TP’s efforts in promoting gender equality and women empowerment across its workforce, making it the only business process outsourcing (BPO) company recognized in this category.
“This award is a testament to our shared commitment to champion women empowerment and gender equality across all levels of the organization,” said Toni Tompar, TP Women Chair and Executive Vice President of Operations. “Now, more than ever, we are inspired to continue breaking barriers and driving change for an even more inclusive future.”
Teleperformance’s success stems from its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) program, particularly through TP Women, an employee resource group established in 2019. The program provides mentorship and leadership opportunities for over 35,000 women employees across TP’s 27 sites in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It also offers support services and engagement activities to help women thrive in their careers.
TP’s innovative Cloud Campus remote work solution further complements its inclusivity efforts. Launched to address evolving workplace needs, Cloud Campus expands TP’s reach in underserved areas, providing work-from-home opportunities that benefit marginalized groups, including solo parents, persons with disabilities, and working students. Over 60% of the workforce at these hubs are women.
In 2022, TP opened two Cloud Campus microsites in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, and General Santos City, Mindanao, generating economic opportunities in these regions. These hubs have been praised for empowering women by creating more equitable access to jobs while easing the burden of domestic responsibilities.
“Through programs like TP Women and TP Cloud Campus, we are not only creating opportunities but also ensuring that every woman is heard, empowered, and celebrated,” said Tanya Famador, Chief Operating Officer of Teleperformance Philippines. “We will continue to innovate and partner with organizations like UN Women to gain more ground in championing women’s career development and gender equality.”
The UN Women Asia-Pacific WEPs Awards recognize companies aligning with Women’s Empowerment Principles to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment across the region.
