Two teenagers were arrested during a police anti-illegal drugs operation on the evening of March 5 in Numancia, Aklan.
The suspects were identified as alias Kaycee, 19, a student from Barangay Bugasungan, Lezo town, and alias Jay, 19, of Barangay Poblacion, Numancia.
Members of the Aklan Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (AkPPO-PDEU) and the Numancia Municipal Police Station apprehended the duo after they sold a sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves for ₱1,500.
During a frisk, authorities recovered two more sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves and an improvised tooter.
According to AkPPO-PDEU, officers had been transacting with Kaycee for about two weeks before launching the operation.
Jay’s brother claimed that his sibling was at home when Kaycee called him to meet.
Shortly after leaving home, Jay was arrested during the buy-bust operation.
The suspects are now in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
