BACOLOD CITY – A tragic incident last Sunday claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy who drowned in a river at Hacienda Antolanga, Barangay Tinongan, in Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Police Captain Ar-jay Dangarang, the town’s police chief, reported that the teenager, a Grade 10 student participating in Citizen Army Training (CAT), had been swimming with peers that afternoon.
Unnoticed by his companions, the boy drowned. Despite extensive efforts to find him, they were not successful. His body was discovered later, floating in the river.
“It’s possible the victim struck his head when he jumped into the river,” Dangarang noted, indicating a potential cause of the fatal incident.
