A 51-year-old man was injured in a gun attack early morning of March 25 in Jaro, Iloilo City.
Police identified the victim as Marcelino Sensoro, a resident of Sitio Lunok, Barangay Cubay, Jaro.
Sensoro sustained gunshot wounds on his left shoulder and right arm.
The suspect, 18-year-old Alvin Hallares, also of Cubay village, fled after the incident.
Master Sergeant Saturnino dela Cruz, Jr., Iloilo City Police Station 4 investigator, said Sensoro was about to get out of their gate on board his motorcycle at around 4:30 a.m. of Saturday when Hallares waylaid him.
The suspect immediately fired a 12-gauge shotgun at the victim.
Sensoro was rushed to West Visayas State University Medical Center.
The victim told police investigators that he had no idea why Hallares wanted him dead.
It was gathered that the suspect is the brother-in-law of Sensoro’s daughter.
Dela Cruz said Hallares appeared to intend to kill Sensoro.
Manhunt operation against the suspect is still ongoing.
