BACOLOD CITY – A teenager and his elderly uncle were dead after they were electrocuted at Hacienda Carugiat, Barangay 13, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Thursday.
Police withheld the names of the 19-year-old boy from Barangay 13, Victorias City, and his 60-year-old uncle from Barangay Pasil, E.B. Magalona town.
Police Capt. Genus David, deputy chief of Victorias City Police Station, said the victims, who were farmers, were preparing their carabao sled when a live wire fell and hit the sled.
The teenager was directly hit by the electric current when he touched the sled. He collapsed to the ground, prompting his uncle to rush and help him.
However, the uncle was also electrocuted, according to David.
Both victims were declared dead in a hospital.
