A 16-year-old boy was taken into police custody after he allegedly killed his older brother in a knife attack evening of Nov 23, 2022 in Maasin, Iloilo.
Macoy (not his real name) allegedly stabbed his brother while both were drinking liquor around 9 p.m. Wednesday at their home in Sitio Sambulawan Katod, Barangay Abay, Maasin.
Captain Richard Lao, Maasin police chief, said the victim allegedly sat beside his brother, 25-year-old Marlon, and stabbed the latter in the chest.
The two did not figure in an argument prior to the incident.
“Both of them were drunk. And according to their family, the suspect is known as a stubborn teenager,” Lao said.
But it was gathered that it wasn’t the first time that Macoy violently attacked his brother.
The suspect previously struck his older brother, but the victim did not report the incident.
It was gathered that the suspect was immediately arrested after the incident.
He will be turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).
Lao said that the family would no longer pursue any case against Macoy.
