BACOLOD City – A Grade 7 student aged 12 died after he was allegedly stabbed to death by his 18-year-old schoolmate at Barangay Zone 16, Talisay City, Negros Occidental Sunday, September 22.
Killed was Arnel Braza.
Police investigation indicated that the incident happened when Grade 11 student Joseph Durable, 18, passed by the area where some children, including the victim, were laughing.
Durable thought that the children were laughing at him, thus he drew an 8.5-inch knife and stabbed Braza.
But the victim’s companions alleged that they were not laughing at the suspect, but at one of their companions.
In a media interview, Durable said he was sorry for what he did, but he claimed that he was allegedly being bullied by the victim at their school always.
It also probably prompted him to commit the crime, police said.
Durable, who is now under police custody faces murder charges.
