Teen stabs partner’s father in Pontevedra

A teenager was taken into temporary police custody after allegedly stabbing the father of his live-in partner in Pontevedra, Capiz.

The incident occurred late evening on Feb. 8 at the young couple’s residence in Barangay Binuntucan, police said.

The victim was identified only as alias Toto, 44, a resident of Barangay Yatingan, Pontevedra.

Police said the victim, who was reportedly intoxicated, arrived at the house where his daughter and her 16-year-old live-in partner, alias Nonoy, were staying.

Investigators said Toto attempted to grab a bolo after seeing Nonoy holding it.

The two reportedly argued and struggled over possession of the weapon.

Pontevedra police chief Capt. Dennis Losbañes said Nonoy managed to overpower and push the victim.

Police said the suspect then stabbed Toto twice, hitting him in the cheek and abdomen.

The victim was rushed to Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra and later transferred to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City for further treatment.

Authorities said the teenage suspect will be placed under the care of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for proper disposition of the case in accordance with juvenile justice laws.
