BACOLOD City – Police are eyeing jealousy behind a stabbing incident that wounded a 17-year-old boy at Hacienda Amanda, Barangay 8, Victorias City, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Authorities withheld the name of the minor-victim.
Investigation indicated that the victim and his girlfriend were talking when two persons allegedly armed with a bladed weapon arrived.
Police identified one of the suspects as Jomer Sison, while his companion remains unidentified.
The suspects allegedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen and back. He was taken by his uncle to the Victorias Emergency Clinic and was later transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.
Police Lieutenant Judesses Catalogo, public information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said that Sison is the stepbrother of the victim’s girlfriend, and the other suspect is their relative.
Catalogo said there’s a possible angle that Sison likes his stepsister.
Both suspects are still at large, according to Catalogo.
