Teen sexually abused by father

BACOLOD City – A 16-year-old girl was reportedly sexually molested by her father inside their house here early Thursday.

Police withheld the name of the minor-victim and her 43-year-old father.

Police Inspector Jonito Pastrana, head of Police Station 9, said the victim’s mother was not at home when it happened. The victim was with her siblings and her father at home, he added.

Pastrana said the victim told her mother about the incident later that day, prompting them to report it to the authorities.

It was the first time that it happened. He probably took advantage of the situation when the mother was not around, the station commander said.

Pastrana said they arrested yesterday the victim’s father, who is a construction worker.

The suspect denied the accusations against him while behind bars at the police station.

Pastrana said the suspect will be facing charges for incest rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.”
