A 19-year-old boy accused of statutory rape was arrested on the morning of July 14 in Oton, Iloilo.
Alias “Cedrix” was apprehended in Barangay Abilay, where he resides.
Members of the Oton Municipal Police Station served the arrest warrant for statutory rape under Article 266-A (1) in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353 and Republic Act 11648.
The warrant was issued by the presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Iloilo City on Jan. 7, 2025.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
Cedrix is listed as the No. 7 most wanted person in Iloilo province.
Reports said the suspect was accused of raping a minor in March 2024 in Oton.
Lt. Col. Abner Jordan, Oton police chief, said Cedrix claimed the complainant was his girlfriend.
However, the girl’s family still pursued the case against him.
Cedrix is now detained pending proper disposition of his case.
