The number of adolescent pregnancy cases in Antique doubled in the second quarter of 2025, according to data from the Office of the Provincial Population Officer.
As of June, the province recorded 498 cases, a sharp increase from the 240 cases logged in the first quarter covering January to March.
The Provincial Health Office has yet to release a detailed breakdown of the second-quarter cases by age group for the 10–14 and 15–19 brackets.
Records from the first quarter, however, showed that six cases involved girls aged 10 to 14 — three from San Jose and one each from Tobias Fornier, Hamtic, and Laua-an.
The remaining 234 cases were among adolescents aged 15 to 19.
The PHO confirmed that all 18 municipalities in Antique reported adolescent pregnancy cases in the first half of the year.
The top 10 municipalities with the highest numbers were Caluya (83), Sibalom (50), San Remigio (50), Hamtic (41), San Jose (40), Pandan (28), Tibiao (27), Culasi (27), Tobias Fornier (22), and Patnongon (22).
In 2024, the province reported 963 adolescent pregnancy cases, with 935 involving girls aged 15 to 19 and 28 among those aged 10 to 14.
