Teen on Iloilo’s most wanted list arrested

A teenager listed among Iloilo province’s most wanted was arrested on Sept. 1 in Balasan, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified only as alias Buknoy, 19, of Barangay Poblacion Norte, Balasan, was served an arrest warrant while in detention at the Sara Municipal Police Station in Barangay Poblacion Sur.
Balasan Municipal Police officers carried out the warrant, which was issued by the 6th Regional Trial Court Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo on Aug. 26, 2025, for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.
Buknoy is the eighth most wanted individual in Iloilo province.
Balasan Police Chief Lt. Luzel Macaroncio said the suspect was accused of stealing a motorcycle in July.
He later escaped from police custody on July 31.
His escape led to the relief of Capt. Renzo Martinez and three of his personnel.
The suspect surrendered on Aug. 11.
