A 15-year-old mother and her teenage companion were arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation on the evening of May 2 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Police identified the suspects only as Nene and Bong, both 15 and residents of Arevalo, Iloilo City.
Nene’s 1-year-old son was with her when members of the Iloilo City Police Station 10 arrested her in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao.
Bong is the brother of Nene’s live-in partner, who is also a minor.
Police said Bong was driving an e-bike when they were arrested.
The two allegedly connived in selling a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 1,000.
Capt. Lester Oliveros, ICPS 10 chief, said the seized drugs weighed about 4 grams and were valued at PHP 27,200.
According to police reports, Nene had been under monitoring for two weeks before her arrest.
She told police operatives that she had been involved in the illegal drug trade since February.
Oliveros said Nene and Bong had been working for another drug pusher who had established contact with a detained drug personality.
Following their arrest, Nene was placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Crisis Intervention Unit.
Bong was turned over to Balay Dalayunan in Lapuz district.
