A 17-year-old was apprehended after he reportedly stabbed his girlfriend’s other boyfriend on the evening of March 25 in Zarraga, Iloilo.
The suspect, known only as Ken from Barangay Sigangao, Zarraga, was identified by police.
Officials reported that Ken and his 17-year-old girlfriend quarreled at her grandmother’s home in Barangay Pajo.
Subsequently, the girl summoned her other boyfriend, 23-year-old Jericho from Barangay Talauguis, to collect her.
“The Ken got wind of his girlfriend’s plan,” said Master Sergeant Ryan Gayoma, a Zarraga police investigator.
Ken is accused of ambushing Jericho, who was on a motorcycle, and stabbing him.
Jericho was able to escape and return home, where he received assistance and was taken to the hospital.
Gayoma confirmed that Jericho sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital following treatment.
Ken returned home too, where police took him into custody. It has been reported that Jericho has decided not to file charges against Ken, as both parties reached a mutual settlement.
