A 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually molesting a minor in Leon, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified only as “RonRon,” was apprehended in the town proper of Leon around 7:32 p.m. on January 7.
RonRon, a sorter at a courier company, is listed as the sixth most wanted person in Iloilo province.
Police officers from the Leon Municipal Police Station arrested him based on a warrant issued by Judge Globert Justalero of Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 32 in Iloilo City on January 6, 2025.
The warrant pertains to three counts of rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A (1) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353, in relation to Article 266-B and Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act). The charges are docketed under Criminal Case Numbers 24-93243, 24-93244, and 24-93245.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
Captain Martin Pugales, Leon police chief, said RonRon was aware of the charges filed against him but chose not to flee.
The suspect reportedly met the victim during a volleyball game but has denied the allegations of sexual abuse.
RonRon is now detained, awaiting proper disposition of his case.
