Teen accused of molesting neighbor

A TEENAGE boy was arrested after he allegedly molested their 11-year-old neighbor in Leon, Iloilo.
Police Lieutenant Felix Perez, Leon police chief, did not name the suspect and the hinterland village where the incident happened to protect the identity of the victim.
The incident reportedly happened early evening of Monday, July 22, 2019, after the victim was asked by her grandmother to buy sugar.
The nearest store was about a kilometer from where the victim resides.
On her way back home, the 19-year-old suspect allegedly hugged her from behind. There were no houses near the area and the suspect brought the victim to a vegetated portion of the village.
He hurriedly molested the girl. After the deed, he told the victim not to tell anyone about what happened.
But the girl immediately went home and informed her grandmother of the incident.
With the help of other neighbors, they went to the police station.
“It was a good thing that the girl was courageous enough to report the incident,” Perez said.
Police eventually arrested the suspect.
